Preparation Strategy for SSC CGL 2018-

As the notice has been released here we have come up with the the Preparation Strategy for SSC CGL 2018. SSC CGL is one of the most competitive exams in India and is popular among the candidates across the nation. This year, the examination is expected to be held from 25th July to 20th Aug 2018 for the tier-I paper as notified by the SSC.

So literally we have 4 months in our hands for proper preparation.

BOOKS RECOMMENDED-

1. S.P. Bakshi (English)

2. Kiran Publications (Quantitative Aptitude)

3. R.S. Aggarwal or Arihant Publication book (Logical Reasoning)

4. Class 6-10 Ncerts (Science+sst) and Lucent GK (General awareness)

The two most important subjects for SSC CGL are Quantitative aptitude and English.  These two sections need special attentions as there is a lot to be learned primarily. Makes notes of all important topics and Formulas. These notes will help you in your last days Revision and that would-be stage 3 of smart plan.

Basic Information-

  • Tier I & II are online tests.
  • Tier I contains 100 questions for 200 marks with duration of 75 minutes.
  • No changes in Tier II marks or time limit.
  • Tier III is introduced from 2016 onwards. It is a descriptive paper on English or Hindi language for 100 marks.
  • Final merit list to be prepared based on the overall performance in Tier I, II & III
  • No sectional cutoffs, but you should qualify in each tier separately.

Preparation Strategy for SSC CGL 2018-

  1. Candidates should read and study the entire syllabus.
  2. Start with General awareness portion. Cover it in 30 days because many books among these having 70-80 pages only so go fast and finish it in 30 days.
  3.  Read a newspaper daily, no matter how busy your day goes, always try to find those dedicated 30 min. Vocab, grammatical structures, current affairs and Most important Reading habit which is a prerequisite skill all can be covered by the same.
  4. Carry one more subject depending on your ability.
  5. Example-

    1 topic of English = Everyday

    1-2 topics of Quantitative Aptitude = Everyday

  6. Try to focus on the topics and revise properly.

Next Stage of preparation-

  1. Select the left over other two subjects.
  2. Try to complete it in 30 days.
  3. Meanwhile candidates must solve the previous year question papers to know their performance.
  4. If possible join any online test series. There are ample test series available in the market. You can choose anyone. If still confused comment below any we will definitely help you.

Final Stage of Preparation-

  1. After the syllabus is completed try to write all the formulas again at one place.
  2. REVISE, REVISE, REVISE.
  3. There is no substitute of revision.
  4. Try to solve at least one mock test daily.
  5. Try different time-management strategies
  6. Update yourself with GK.
