This scheme is a good move by the state govt. It will help around 6 lacks of girls coming from weaker economic background anually. A sum of 1500 Cr has been allocated by the state government for this purpose.

The hidden aim of the government is to promote education of the girl child. Since many families promote early marriages due to financial crisis. And the girl has no option than to quit on her studies. So, this will somehow aim at that situation too.

Earlier a scheme called Kanyashree Prakalpa was introduced too. It aimed to improve the status and well-being of girls, specifically those from socio-economically weaker families through Conditional Cash Transfers.

Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme aimed to ensure that girls stay in school and continue their education and delay their marriages until at least age 18. It somewhat couldn’t provide the expected result and implementation.
